I foresaw Peter having a rather harsh reaction, not collapsing like a stroke victim. :U

Calm down, Peter. ( Reply )

Woah, Peter, think of the most loving night you spent with your wife. Remember the snuggles and cuddles. (Snuggle bunnies in the Bloom County context!) With that in mind, think, "Four hands."

No, wrong reaction. Leave the room, close the door, and then slam the door open while shouting "Holy crap, Ally, do you have four arms?!?"

@Jack Mcslay: Spinnerette's technically another universe.. remember when they were chasing the Dimension-hopping frog guy? they ran right past Sahira and Heather.

Peter might be in shock, but Ally has lockjoint with those lower arms! I hope they'll be able to bend enough to give Peter hugs!

And if he doesn't want her anymore, does she like bluevixens? >:)

@Salen: I could actually see what he means about the second arm shrug. they can't really go up much, unless they go backwards or forwards, too, and seeing your lady wife's pecs sort of bobble weirdly would be a little unsettling. at least initially.

I always wondered what the use of the extra 2 arms were... I guess their used to square the rest of the body. Math = Magic confirmed?

@SkunkWitch: I always thought it was they were used as a magical conduit. Unfortunately, magically creating them in others does not bestow the ability to conduct magic like those exposed to the magic meteorite radiation.

@SkunkWitch: The real reason Enchanters have four arms is that Darkwing likes multifurries. See "Centaur of Attention" for further details and/or lampshade-hanging.

As far as in-universe explanations are concerned, Origin of the Species established that the primitive proto-Enchanters who were exposed to that weird meteoric radiation just kinda grew extra arms as part of the deal. My own headcanon says that the extra arms weren't actually part of the original package; instead, proto-Enchanters used their magic on themselves to give themselves better control and/or a higher level of power, and the four-armed form just happened to grant that enhancement.

@Cubist: of course, YOUR headcanon isn't canon, the author's is.

  Radical backstory! ( Reply )

I have an original character that's a blue hedgehog. He's a two-headed blue hedgehog by the names of Sora and Nicky.

@Salen: I kind of go the conduit route myself. Me and Cubist differ on the origin ideas. :P

@DarkwingDork: No worries with differing origins. They aren't specifically spelled out, so that leaves room for interpretations of it for the reader/writer/artist. My thought was just the one that seemed the easiest to justify the situation. Nothing more.

As long as it isn't spelled out exactly, everyone can guess at how it works behind the curtains.
